Uptown Charlotte has so many beautiful spots for photos. Whether you are looking to do a family photo session or an engagement session, Uptown is always a good option and a firm favorite of photographers.
This past weekend and to kick off the month of love, one of my 2024 couples drove all the way from Greensboro to get their engagement session done here in Charlotte. I definitely appreciate them making the long drive. Our initial choice of locations Uptown was the Convention Center but it seemed like a busy weekend and so we took our business just opposite to The Green.
The Green is a small oasis of nature tucked away in the middle of a concrete jungle. It is right opposite the Convention center and is such a great little park. There are some outdoor bistro seating as well as restaurant options if you are inclined to grab a meal or have a picnic with friends. Families love this park as their are some beautiful directional signs and a small splash pad active during the summer for the little ones to play in. By best part is that just adjacent to the Green is a small gorgeous red brick church. The outside prayer/meditation area is especially gorgeous and perfect to escape the crowds. It is the perfect spot for a couple session. I definitely advise making use of the park itself if you can get some downtime as it is a very well frequented park by tourists and my natives as well.
Another reason i am a fan of this park is that it affords the option for the couple to walk around and play tourist. The beautiful walkways are lined with flowers that are resilient even in the cold of winter. If either of the couple is a bookworm, there are book statues that would make for a great backdrop for a photo.
I am excited to shoot Heaven and her beau for their wedding this summer and glad for this engagement session that helped break the ice and get them familiarized with my style.
