I first met B and M last year when I covered their proposal at one of Charlotte’s most beautiful rooftop restaurants.  It was my first time covering a rooftop proposal and was definitely one I will never forget. They recently got back in touch to book me as their wedding photographer and I am deeply honored to be on this journey of forever love with them.

Most of my wedding packages include a complimentary (AKA Free) engagement photo session. Once a couple books me as their wedding photographer, the next step is to schedule some time for their complimentary engagement session.  Asides from it being free (who doesn’t love a freebie?) it is also a great opportunity for couples to get to know their wedding photographer and vice-versa. Also a great opportunity to get some nice professional photos for the wedding website and Save The Dates or Wedding Invites. I have also know quite a number of couples to print these photos as banners for some wedding day venue decor. I highly recommend getting engagement photos done as early as planning begins so you have the images at your disposal for whatever purposes serve you best.

B and M decided to go with Midtown Park, a fan favorite in the Charlotte area for not only engagement photos but also graduations, family and even wedding portraits. I have met many just married couples having their wedding portraits done at this location. Maybe it is the gorgeous Charlotte skyline or the nearby greenway or the mini waterfall hidden just behind the trees or the fountain a few steps away, Charlotte photographers and their clients love this location quite a bit.

On the day of our session, we counted at least 6 other photoshoots happening in a 1 mile radius. It was definitely exhilarating especially with the beautiful weather. The flowers are already abloom in Charlotte and winter is all but forgotten. B and M chose simple formal black outfits for their session and I could not have been happier with their wardrobe choices. Their outfits are proof that there is really no need to break out the piggy bank for your engagement session outfits.

We were able to navigate the  park despite the very busy day and capture some great shots all around the park and I cannot wait to share some of the final images with the couple and their loved ones.  It was such a full circle moment to capture their love and joy at starting this beautiful journey of love together.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing B and M again and I am not sure I can wait for their wedding to catch up.

If you are in the Charlotte area and looking for a wedding photographer, please reach out. I would love to discuss how we can memorialize you big day in the best way possible.
